Community Pounced On Alleged Robbers, Stoned burnt To Death Them To Death
Following the brutal murder of two suspected robbers in Siloam, outside Thohoyandou, Limpopo, on Wednesday 17 August 2022, community members have been warned to refrain from engaging in vigilantism and mob attacks.
Community members in Tshavhalovhedzi village, under Siloampolicing area allegedly stoned the two men to death and burned their bodies.

Three suspects allegedly robbed a 23-year-old woman of her cellphone and other belongings at a local Plaza, according to police. They then attempted to kidnap her in full view of onlookers, but quickly abandoned her and drove away after she screamed for help.
“Two were killed and the third one was rescued by the police and arrested. Their motor vehicle was also torched.
“Community members proceeded to surround the police station, demanding his release but POPs members were activated to contain the situation.”
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Limpopo Police Commissioner, condemned the incident and stated that the tendency of some community members to take the law into their own hands will be dealt with harshly, and those responsible will be hunted down and brought to justice.

Robbery, attempted kidnapping, two counts of murder, and malicious property damage will all be charged. The suspect in the robbery and attempted kidnapping will appear in Siloam Magistrate Court soon.
