Teffo became an advocate on January 5, 2009, and worked as a referral advocate.
Mfesane Ka-Siboto, an LPC advocate, previously told the high court that Teffo was the subject of 22 malpractice complaints. These included deceiving the court, threatening clients, and failing to conduct themselves ethically and professionally during court proceedings.

Correspondence, affidavits, and court records were presented by the LPC. “More than 75% of the complaints relate to how Teffo conducts himself,” said Ka-Siboto, adding Teffo has also been charged with assaulting a female police officer from the provincial offices in Parktown, Gauteng.
In another case, he allegedly used an attorney’s signature without authorization in court correspondence.
